Ministry Programs
OBU’s Campus Ministry permeates the campus through discipleship, worship and ministry activities. In addition, students can serve in missions through the University’s Avery T. Willis Center for Global Outreach.

For the 2006-07 academic year, The Avery T. Willis Center for Global Outreach coordinated eight Global Outreach Trips, with 60 participants. Ten graduates applied for IMB Journeyman program and two applied for Peace Corps.

National Recognition
OBU is ranked #3 among baccalaureate colleges in the western region in the 2008 U.S. News & World Report “America’s Best Colleges” ratings. OBU has been Oklahoma’s highest rated college in the U.S. News rankings for 14 consecutive years. OBU has been in the magazine’s regional “top 10” for 16 straight years.

OBU is one of 75 private universities in the nation included in the 2008 “America’s Best Value Colleges” rankings compiled by The Princeton Review. OBU also is a 2008 “Best in the West” institution, according to The Princeton Review.

Governance

OBU is owned by Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, which provides approximately $2.8 million in annual support through Cooperative Program funds. OBU is governed by a 33-member board of trustees elected by the state convention.

Sports
16, including men's and women's basketball, cross country, golf, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, soccer, tennis, men's baseball, and women's softball.

OBU was ranked #5 in the 2006-07 U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup standings for the NAIA. The rankings are based on the overall success of athletic programs at NAIA member schools. OBU finished as the top school from the Sooner Athletic Conference and NAIA Region VI with 639.

OBU’s women’s indoor track and field team won the 2007 NAIA Championship, which was their second championship in three years. The OBU men’s outdoor track and field team won the 2007 NAIA Championship, which was their second championship.

OBU has a total of five NAIA National Championships: men’s basketball, one, 1966; men’s outdoor track and field, two, 1990 and 2007; women’s indoor track and field, two, 2005 and 2007.

Intramurals
Approximately 800 students participate in 15 intramural sports.
